Dog kennels are a great way to keep your dog safe when you are not home, but can also be a calming spot for an anxious dog. I highly recommend all dog owners crate train their puppies to feel happy and safe in a kennel. This particular kennel (click this link dog kennel) is also FAA approved, which means that dogs can be transported in the cargo compartment of an airplane with this kennel. If your dog has not been crate trained and you plan on traveling with them (and they are too big to go in cabin), buy your kennel now and start acclimating them to the kennel. This will take several weeks/months. I suggest starting with feeding them all their meals in the kennel. At first leave the door open and put the food at the front of the kennel. As they become more comfortable around the kennel start to move the food towards the back of the kennel, while continuing to keep the door open. Once they are comfortable going into the kennel to eat, then you want to start closing the door while they are eating and open it up once they are finished. This should lead into your dog being comfortable being left for short peroids of time in the kennel, which can then be increased into longer periods of time.
