Winter Accessories for dogs

With winter weather starting in many areas, it is important to remember the products you may need to help protect your dogs from the elements as well. If your dog is a breed that originates from a cold area you will not need to provide them with clothing that is warm for them (Alaskan Malamutes, Siberian Huskies, Samoyeds). However if you have a dog that has short hair and is just not meant to be out in the cold, sweaters and jackets are good idea to keep them warm when outside. Jackets like this one are nice because they utilize a zipper rather than velcro which often does not wear well. Also this one protects the underside of the dog more than a lot of other brands. Regardless of the breed of dog, it is important to protect your dog's paws and paw pads from the freezing ground and caustic salts that are put on the roads. These boots are great because you can order them in a specific size for your dog as well as they have a velcro strap to hold them onto their feet. It may take a little time for your dog to get used to wearing booties, so the first few times you put them on praise them with a treat and only put them on for. a few minutes.
